Why adopt?

According to the American Pit Bull Foundation, 3,500,000 adoptable dogs are euthanized each year simply because there are too many pets coming into the shelters and too few people who consider adoption.

Currently, the American Pit Bull Terrier is listed as one of the top 3 favorite breeds in 28 states in the U.S. Unfortunately their popularity has led to overbreeding and a spike in unwanted litters as a result of failure to spay and neuter. With these two factors along with breed-discriminatory legislation (BSL), there has been an influx of pit-bull-like dogs in shelters.

Being on the road by yourself can be lonely. According to The Human Animal Bond Research Institute, 80% of pet owners say their pets help them feel less lonely and 76% say that their interactions with their pets help them feel less isolated from society.

Pit Stop Dogs are great companions and can help you feel less lonely while you’re on the road!
