Pound Pit-to-Trucker Program
The “Pound Pit to Trucker” program pairs professional truck drivers with pit bulls who are ready to ride shotgun and live life on the open road.
All dogs at the shelter must pass a behavioral and temperament assessment before they are put up for adoption. The dogs chosen for the Pound Pit to Trucker program must pass additional tests to ensure they have the right temperament to be on the road for long periods of time. These tests include assessing energy level, noise response, and ride alongs with our Animal Control Officers.
All Pit Stop Dogs Have:
- Free yearly vaccinations
- Waived adoption fee
- Been observed for a minimum of 14 days
- Been Spayed/Neutered & microchipped
